Marina di Ragusa
Marina di Ragusa is a beautiful village on the Mediterranean coast, directly opposite Malta. It is famed for its beautiful beaches and lively night life, and boasts pizzerias, gelaterias and cafes in abundance. If getting away from the English language is what you're after, Marina is everything you need.
Ancient coins have been found in the village, indicating Roman and Byzantine presence, and the impressive watch tower on the promenade was built as a look out for pirates! |
Southern Sicily
The rugged coasts of Southern Sicily are more than on par with their northern neighbours. The South is still somewhat off the beaten track; we'd recommend exploring for yourself before the secret gets out!
You can visit Norman castles, the home of Inspector Montelbano, baroque towns and dramatic beach caves or, if that all sounds a little too energetic for your getaway, the South boasts impressive cuisine and perfect opportunity to lose yourself in a good book. |
